Mytheon revealed by Petroglyph
Greek-themed MMO will be free to play
Empire at War creators Petroglyph are hard at work on a brand new free to play MMO title, the firm revealing that Mytheon will be released in the autumn of 2009.
The new online title will be funded by micro-transactions, with premium items such as double-XP potions and the like offered by way of incentives to spend. Other paid-for content will further enhance the experience for more serious players, we're told.
An RPG-style experience is planned by the developer, who will offer three traditional classes to players from the game's outset, with abilities and spells to acquire through solo, group and player versus player action.
An ancient Greek setting is planned and this classic backdrop will be coloured via the inclusion of mythological Gods, with whom players will do battle. More on Mytheon as we get it.
